All children in Key Stage 2 have timetabled lessons in Spanish. These are delivered by St Thomas More Catholic Academy as well as Spanishtastic.

During these lessons children learn to speak basic spanish, which they will be able to use to broaden their understanding of other cultures. A variety of interactive resources are used to make lessons stimulating and enjoyable, as well as developing reading and writing in spanish. This supports our Year 6 pupils ready for when the attend high school. Not only do Key Stage 2 have access to Spanish, we also promote key vocabulary such as, hello and goodbye, counting and colours, in EYFS and Key Stage 1.

A Spanish club is provided for children to explore the language even further and to extend their vocabulary through interactive games and learning.

In the Autumn Term 2018, Year 3 and 4 were able to experience Spanish culture and took part in a Spanish Day to launch their topic.

They were able to taste delicious Spanish food, perform a Flamenco dance and took part in Spanish activities. Take a look on our gallery section to see the children at work!

Take a look at the incredible learning and fun we had participating in our Spanish day! Even the teachers got involved!
